365Daily– 21-year-old man, Michael Arigbabuwo, 21, has lost his life at a birthday party after swallowing a blend of hard drugs.
The incident which happened in Ikorodu, has been confirmed by the Lagos State Police Command.
The Force Spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a Twitter post, disclosed that the death occurred on Friday, September 23, 2022.
He added that the deceased’s three friends who were present at the party have been taken into custody.
Hundeyin further disclosed that the police in Ikorodu received a distress call at around 7.30 p.m. on Friday that some ‘Yahoo’ boys had deposited a corpse at Igbogbo area of Ikorodu.
He continued: “Based on the information, teams of detectives visited and photographed the scene. Three young men of ages 23 and 24 were arrested.
“The suspects claimed that the deceased allegedly smoked loud and drank codeine at a birthday party of one of their friends held at Igbogbo area of Ikorodu.
“The suspects further claimed that the deceased began gasping for breath. He was rushed to the hospital but died.”
Hundeyin said full investigation has commenced into the matter, adding that the corpse has been evacuated and deposited at the General Hospital, Ikorodu, for autopsy.
He warned youths to stay away from drug abuse because indulgence will lead to disaster.
“Thinking of doing drugs? Have a rethink as nothing fruitful emanates from it,” he wrote.
