Atiku extends hands of fellowship to newly elevated Cardinal Okpalaeke

365Daily – The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the coming 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated Bishop Peter Ebere Okpaleke on his recent elevation as a Cardinal.

His Eminence Okpalaeke, Bishop of Ekwulobia Catholic Diocese, Anambra State, was last weekend, lifted to the rank of a Cardinal at the Vatican, Rome, by Pope Francis I.

In a congratulatory message on his social media handles on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, Atiku said, “I believe that this elevation is not only a recognition for the Bishop of Ekwulobia in Anambra State, the Catholic Bishops Conference, and the Catholic Church but also for Nigeria in general.”

The former Vice President prayed for more extraordinary grace and wisdom in for the new cardinal in discharging his assignment.

Atiku stated: “I extend my hands of fellowship to Cardinal Okpaleke in nation-building as a leader, both now and in the future, to continue the already established tradition of inter-religious dialogue and ecumenical spirit of the Catholic Church for which our nation has benefitted from all these past years.”
