Senate suspends plenary over death of Edo lawmaker, Idehen

365Daily – The Senate has suspended Tuesday plenary over the recent death of a member of the House of Representatives (PDP, Egor/Ikpoba-Okha Federal Constituency, Edo State), Hon. Jude Idehen.
Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege (APC, Delta Central) presided over the sitting.
The Senate, which had just resumed plenary from its two-week recess on July 19, 2022, adjourned till Wednesday, July 20, to honour the deceased who passed on July 1, 2022, at the age of 52.
Deputy Leader of the Senate, Senator Ajayi Boroffice (APC, Ondo North), moved the motion to adjourn plenary in accordance with its tradition. It was seconded by the Minority Leader, Senator Philip Aduda (PDP, FCT).
The Senate also observed a minute silence in honour of the deceased before dispersing.
