Aregbesola reacts to Oyetola election loss: “The most high ruleth in the affairs of men”

365Daily – Former Governor of Osun State and Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has reacted to the defeat of the Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, in the gubernatorial election which held on Saturday, July 16, 2022.

Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was on Sunday, July 17, 2022, declared the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). A former Senator, Adeleke is the younger brother to the state’s first governor, Isiaka Adeleke and uncle to popular singer, Davido.

He defeated Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), having won 17 of the 30 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state with 375,027 votes.

INEC results indicates that Oyetola won in the remaining 13 LGAs with 403,371 votes.

Reacting to APC and Oyetola’s loss in a Twitter post, Aregbesola, who had opposed the candidacy of the incumbent Governor, quoted a Bible verse, saying “the Most High ruleth in the affiars of men…”
