365Daily – The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has entered into a partnership with indigenous cable television provider, TSTv Africa, on content development.
Chairman of the Council, Emmanuel Ogbeche, in a statement, said the duo sealed the deal when the satellite broadcasting company paid him a courtesy visit at his Abuja office.
He said the union was ready to partner with TSTv, stating that the NUJ has a pool of professionals that were capable of developing world class content.
While thanking the delegation for identifying with the journalists’ body, he informed the delegation that the NUJ would like to have its own segment in the area of human rights, news and current affairs that would reach a wide range of Nigerians.
Ogbeche added that he was fascinated that TStv was home grown (organic) with most of its contents conforming to local reality.
Earlier, the Marketing Manager, TStv, Mr. Babalola Babatunde, who led the delegation, disclosed that TStv is willing to key into journalists’ experience for the good of the viewing public through content development.
He disclosed that TStv has over 98 channels, with 25 under its control and wished that the anticipated synergy with NUJ would greatly enhance their impact.
“We believe that NUJ with its wide reach to Nigerians will be in a better position to tell the story of TStv. It is important to know that TStv is not like other pay TVs in Nigeria. We are so flexible and affordable and that is what Nigerians want. We are giving what Nigerians want. Today, you pay for what you want and you pay for what you are watching,” Babatunde said.
