APC presidential aspirants from Southeast pledge support for one another

365Daily  – As political parties begin their primary elections ahead of the 2023 general elections, presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress,  APC, from  the South-east zone have resolved to support anyone of them that might be choosen as the candidate of the party.

The aspirants made their position known via a communique they issued at the end of their meeting held at the residence of Senator Rochas Okorocha on Sunday, May 22, 2022, under the chairmanship of the immediate past Minister of Science,  Technology and Innovation,  Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu.

All Progressives Congress

The communique reads: “That the President of the federal republic of Nigeria and the All Progressives Congress and its National Working Committee as well the teaming members of the party are commended by the entire people of the southeast on their avowed commitment to the unity of Nigeria and the inclusion of all parts of Nigeria In the governance architecture of the country.

“That we commend all Nigerians who are committed to the Nigerian project by the whole hearted support of the aspiration of the south east to produce the next Nigerian president in 2023.

“That in furtherance of these commitment all aspirants here commit to align with any of the south east aspirants that is accepted and chosen by other Nigerians to fly the APC flag”.

The communique was signed by Dr. Ogbonaya Onu, Chief Molukwu  Sen. Ken. Nnamani, Barr Mrs Uju Ken Ohanenye, Governor Dave Umahi, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, and Sen. Rochas Okorocha.

Recall that the APC has scheduled to hold its presidential primary election on May 29, 2022, and the South-East extraction of the party has been clamouring for a chance to fly the party’s flag having been denied in previous elections; since 1999 when Nigeria returned to civil rule.
