Bago picks Niger governorship nomination form

365Daily – A ranking member of the House of Representatives and former speakership aspirant, Hon. Mohammed Bago, has joined the governorship race in Niger State, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bago contested the speakership position against the current Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila.

He said his decision was based on his personal desire and passion to contribute his wealth of experience in the public and private sectors cutting across all spheres that will be invaluable for the development and common good of Niger State.

Bago, who represents Chanchaga Federal Constituency, disclosed this on his social media handles on Thursday.

The third term legislator was elected under the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in 2011 and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 and 2019 respectively.

He said: “I obtained the expression of interest and nomination form to contest for the Office of the Governor of Niger State in the 2023 general elections, under the platform of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Over this period, I have garnered requisite experience, contacts, opportunities and invaluable relationships to consolidate on the giant strides of the previous administrations in sustaining the gains and securing the future for “A New Niger” that will compete amongst other developing states in Nigeria and beyond.

“Our mission is to bring about development through harmonious co-existence amongst our people, industrialisation, job and wealth creation through the use of science, technology and Innovations.

“While thanking our Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, for the journey so far and counting on the support of our party APC and the great people of Niger State in the days ahead, you can be rest assured that I remain committed to more than ever serve our people over and above self.”
