365Daily– Maria Oredola Igbinedion, the mother of a former Governor of Edo State, Lucky Igbinedion, has reportedly been murdered by her domestic help.
According to a report by THEWILL, Madam Maria, an indigenes of Usen in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State, died on Thursday December 2 at her home in Ugbo, Benin-City, the Edo State capital at the age of 85.
The Octogenarian was said to have died after her maid strangled her in her home. She also reportedly made away with her jewelries and other valuables.
According to the report, Maria had been confined to a wheel chair since her 80th birthday.
It added that efforts were being made to track and apprehend the alleged killer who is reportedly from Cross River State.
The deceased was married to Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin Kingdom as his first wife.
She is survived by the former governor, Bright Igbinedion, Patience, Philomena and many grandchildren.
