Gbajabiamila sympathises with victims of Lagos building collapse

 

….calls for measures to forestall recurrence

365Daily – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, has sympathised with victims of the 21-storey building collapse which occurred on Monday, November 1, in Ikoyi, Lagos State.

The incident led to the loss of lives, with many still trapped in the rubbles the next day.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Speaker on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, Gbajabiamila said it was unfortunate that the incident happened at a time the Lagos State Government was doing everything possible to make the lives of Lagosians safer.

While extending his condolences to the families of the victims, he added that he shared in their grief.

Gbajabiamila also sympathised with the government and people of Lagos State over the unfortunate incident and called for adequate measures to forestall future occurrence.

He urged the relevant authorities to double their efforts at rescuing those trapped in the ill-fated building.
