Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ to compete for 2022 Grammys, Billboard confirms

Billboard has confirmed that Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ might be competing with some other albums in the 2022 Grammys.
According to Billboard, Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ album has been submitted for the “Best Global Music Award “ at the 2022 Grammys. This is the same category that Burna Boy won this year for his outstanding ‘Twice as Tall’ album.

If Wizkid wins this award, it will make it his second Grammy award. The first was for his contribution to Beyoncé’s ‘Brown Skin Girl’ which won the “Best Music Video” at the 63rd Grammy Awards.

The 18 tracks project has peaked on numerous international charts and currently holds the record for the longest-charting African album.

“Essence” off the album is currently one of the most talked about song in Nigeria and the world at large. It has gained millions of streams on all platforms and have charted in various global charts. The song recently became certified PLATINUM in the US after selling over 1 million units.
