Hijra: Gombe Governor enjoins Muslim faithful to pray for peace, stability

Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has enjoined Muslim faithful to use the period of Islamic New Year (Hijra) 1443, to pray for peace, unity and prosperity in the country.
Yahaya made the call on Monday in a congratulatory message, signed by Isma’ila Missili, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe.
He said that Muslim faithful should reflect on their past deeds and recommit themselves to Almighty Allah and to service of the country.
The governor described the Islamic New Year as “significant in the life of Muslims”, and urged them to use the occasion to offer prayers for peace, growth and prosperity of the state and the country.
“We, therefore, must use the opportunity, especially in the sacred month of Muharram and beyond, to pray fervently for our dear state and the peace of the nation .
“Also pray for those in authority at all levels as we collectively fight to tackle the threat of insecurity and other social and economic challenges facing us today,” he said. (NAN)
