365Daily – Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Sunday, April 25, 2021, attacked Haske Baptist Church in Manini Tasha village, Chukun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing one person and abducting a yet to be ascertained number of worshippers.
365Daily gathered that the attacked happened around 10am.
The deceased was identified as Dr. Zakariah Dogo Yaro, a medical doctor in the services of the Kaduna State Ministry of Health.
Kaduna State has witnessed a series of abductions carried out by bandits in the past weeks, with the Governor of the state, Nasir el-Rufai, insisting that he will not negotiate with bandits.
The Governor has constantly advocated for strong penalties for bandits, including death.
On April 20, about 40 students of Greenfield University in Chukun Local Government Area of the state were abducted from the school premises. Three of the abducted students were later found dead days after the incident.
In March 2021, students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, in Igabi Local Government Area of state, were kidnapped from the school. Out of the 39 abducted, five have been rescued.
