365Daily – Two suspects have been arrested by the Enugu State Police Command over a corpse of a young lady which was dumped along Presidential Road, Independence Layout, Enugu State.

A statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Daniel Ndukwe, in Enugu on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, disclosed that the identity of the deceased had been revealed as Miss Chiamaka Orji.

She was 20 years old.

The Command urged anyone with useful information related to happenings surrounding the deceased to approach it in order to aid the police to apprehend all persons involved in the crime.

This is just as it warned youngsters to be wary of the company they keep to avoid incidences such as the case in point.

According to the statement, in the early hours of March 29, police operatives attached to New Haven Police Division, Enugu, sequel to information received on the body, evacuated it and took it to the hospital,  where it was certified dead by a doctor on duty.

It added that it was thereafter, deposited in the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

The statement continued, “The Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Aliyu, has ordered the state’s Criminal Investigation Department to carry out a full scale investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of the young lady.

“To this end, the Commissioner also advised young persons in the state to be wary of whom they go out with to avoid becoming victims of such despicable acts.

“He enjoins the general public, especially residents of Enugu metropolis, to assist the police with useful information that will lead to the arrest and prosecution of all the assailants.”
