Oyedepo sacks Covenant University lecturer who raped teenage student

The President of the board of the Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, has approved the dismissal of one of its lecturers, Dr Stephen Ukenna, who allegedly raped a 17-year-old female student in his office.

It was gathered that the dismissed lecturer, who is already in police custody as reported earlier by 365Daily, was of the Department of Business Management at the university.

He was arrested on March 11, 2021, by the police in Ota, after the parents of the young victim reported the rape incident to the police.

According to police report, the parents reported that their daughter called them on the phone from the school that she was lured by the lecturer to his office on the said date under the guise of wanting to plan a surprise birthday party for her close friend.

But on getting there, she was overpowered and raped by the disgraced lecturer.

Covenant University is owned by Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of the Living Faith Church, aka Winners Chapel.
