We shall ensure due process in producing Anambra guber candidate – APGA

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Oye, has stated that the national leadership of the party would work hard to ensure that it produces a “credible and acceptable candidate” for the November 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra State.

Speaking at last week’s National Working Committee (NWC) meeting of the party in Abuja – the first since the Coronavirus pandemic began – Oye assured the NWC members that they would certainly be part of the process of choosing an acceptable candidate for the party.

“I can assure you that not only shall we produce a credible and acceptable candidate… the NWC will definitely be instrumental in the handling of the process,” the APGA Chairman said.

Other highlights of the meeting held at the brand new self-owned national secretariat of the party at Katamkpe, Abuja includes the resolve to go to court against any politician who gets elected on the party’s platform and proceeds to defect soon afterwards.

Oye:”The gamble days are over. Henceforth, we shall no longer tolerate such mischief, as APGA will commence legal proceedings against anyone who comes into office on our ticket and proceeds to defect soon afterwards.”

365Daily gathered that before the meeting ended, various committees were set up to scrutinize and evaluate the activities of officers of the party, said to have defaulted in one way, or the other, and recommend appropriate sanctions.
