Anambra 2021: Ekwunife meets Orumba North PDP delegates

A leading aspirant for the November 6 Anambra State governorship election, Senator Uche Ekwunife on Thursday, March 4, 2021, visited the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secretariat of Orumba North local government at Ajalli to interact with the party executives of the local government and seek their support ahead of the upcoming June 26 party primary.

The meeting which had in attendance executives of the party in the local government and wards, including the former chairman of the LGA, Chief Okey Enekwe, the vice chairman PDP (Anambra South), Chief Emma Ebene as well as other stakeholders of the party was presided over by the current chairman of the LGA, Barr Uchenna Obiora.

Addressing the delegates, Ekwunife noted that objectivity must be applied for the party to produce a candidate with the right combination to win the governorship seat.

She stated that the Old Aguata region has been developmentally neglected for so long, that efforts must be made by the region to support a candidate who deeply understands the challenges of the region.

“My government will grow the potentials of the Orumba region, predominantly known for farming activities to support the agrarian needs of the State. Efforts will equally be made to address the infrastructural needs of the region which has been neglected.

Chief Enekwe, in his remarks, noted that in Ekwunife is a great opportunity for the PDP to reclaim the governorship seat of the state.

According to him, he is convinced that Ekwunife’s candidacy will deliver something different for the PDP in the guber election and urged the party delegates to support the Senator in her governorship bid.

Notable on the Senator’s entourage included, the Senator representing Oyo South, Sen. Kola Balogun, former member of House of Representatives, Hon Micah Umoh, former NECO Registrar, Prof Promise Okpala, former commissioner for women affairs Anambra State, Lady Henrietta Agbata, former member of the State Assembly, Hon Dimobi Joseph, former Accountant General of Anambra State, Mrs Helen Nwaeri, former commissioner for commerce and industry, Hon Ken Arinze, former commissioner for women affairs, Hon Bridget Obi, Dr Obi Anyaayo, Legislative Assistant to the Senator, Mrs Ify Chinwuko amongst others.
