Christ, hope of the hopeless

By Pastor Josiah Kehinde

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also; knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience experience; and experience, hope; And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die, peradventure for a good man some will even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being justified by his blood; we shall be saved from wrath through him.

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son; much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.”
Romans 5:1-11 KJV

“The Spirit itself heareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.”
Romans 8:16 KJV

Sometimes life’s disappointments are much more severe. When the job we hoped for does not materialize; friends we counted on let us down; the romantic relationship we longed for fails to work out. But in all these heartbreaks, God’s Word speaks a refreshing truth about our hope in Him.

Apostle Paul wrote, “Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame [or disappoint us], because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us” (Romans 5:3-5).

As we place our trust in God, through His Spirit, He whispers the truth that we are unconditionally loved and will one day be with Him, regardless of the obstacles we face. In this world we shall often encounter people and occasion that may often disappoint us, but God is good to give us genuine hope.

Beloved of God, know for sure that Jesus Christ is the only hope for the hopeless in this world. Apostle Paul explained to you and I that, hope is given to us by the Holy Spirit who personally opens our hearts to the love of God, with the assurance that Christ died for us in our moral helplessness. Shalom.

I pray that the Lord will strengthen you by the power of the Holy Ghost, and envelope you with grace to finish strong in Jesus name Amen.

I pray that wherever you have fallen, and wherever the wicked has knocked you down, the Lord with His right hand in Majesty will mercifully lift you up with all your glory in Jesus name Amen.

I pray that the Lord will mercifully convert your reproach into glory, and graciously turn around your captivity in Jesus name Amen.
