Tears as Senator Salami goes home

The body of Senator Bayo Salami was laid to rest amid tears yesterday in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

He died in the United States of America on January 7 after a brief illness.

Salami was a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He represented Osun Central Senatorial District on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in 1999.

It was gathered that the remains of Senator Salami landed at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos around 8:30am yesterday and taken to Osogbo where he was buried at Ansar-Ud-Deen Central Mosque Cemetery, Sabo, Osogbo.

Some of the dignitaries who attended the funeral were the Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties, Olalekan Badmus, a member of the Osun State APC Elder’s Caucus, Chairman of the Governing Board of Osun Health Insurance Agency, Adeoye Adelakun, Temilade Olokungboye and other APC chieftains and members.
