Hon. Chris Azubogu’s 4th Medical Outreach was brought to a celebratory end yesterday, December 7, 2020, with a total of 761 successful free surgeries and other medical services across four centres in his constituency in Anambra State.

Azubogu, had on Monday, November 30, kick-started his 2020 free medical outreach in Nnewi North/Nnewi South and Ekwusigu Federal Constituency with 60 successful surgeries on the first day of the programme.

According to the legislator, who is a member of the House of Representatives, about 2000 patients were billed to be attended to “across our four centres. Our record also indicates that people across communities in the 21 LGAs in Anambra and even our neighbouring states, participated in the programme.”

The programme took place simultaneously at the Joint Hospital, Ozubulu, Diocesan Hospital Akwudo, Nnewi, Diocesan Hospital, Amichi and the General Hospital, Ukpor.

365Daily gathered that a total of 340 Eye surgeries were performed at the Diocesan Hospital, Akwudo-Nnewi, the centre designated for eye related surgeries, while 421 general surgeries were performed at the Joint Hospital, Ozubulu.

According to Azubogu, “though we targeted 1000 free surgeries, we achieved a total of 761 at the just concluded medical outreach. That, to me, is another reason to celebrate God. May I also thank the Medical team led by Dr Joseph Kigbu and all the volunteers for the successful programme.”
