Secondus’ action against me is madness, says suspended Ebonyi PDP Chairman

By Moses Okorie

The chairman of the dissolved State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Barrister Onyekachi Nwebonyi, has described the action of the National Working Committee under the leadership of the National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus against his team as madness.

Nwebonyi stated this on Wednesday, November 25 in a virtual television interview on AIT, which was monitored by 365Daily in Abuja.

Recall that the National Working Committee, last week, suspended Nwebonyi and his state working committee following the defection of Governor David Umahi, and Nwebonyi was alleged to be a stooge that the governor can still use even while in APC.

In his explanation, Nwebonyi said, the Governor called to notify them that he was defecting to All Progressives Congress (APC), and asked if they were ready to join him, but he (Nwebonyi) and his team refused, instead he was suspended for the action of one man.

Nwebonyi said he called the National Chairman to inform him about the development, but the Chairman did not pick his calls, only to announce dissolution of his working committee in the state without the right of fair hearing.

He added that his lawyer will approach the court over the matter while insisting he remains the authentic chairman of the party in the state, and will never accept the decision of the National Working Committee.
