The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has disclosed that it has no plans to go on strike despite the increase in fuel pump price and hike in electricity tariff.
The Deputy Chairman of the organisation, Comrade Joe Ajaero, stated this while addressing newsmen in Abuja and maintained that though NLC walked out on representatives of the Federal Government out of anger, it will not end up in a strike.
While stressing that labour could not on its own declare a strike without engaging members and following due process, he said contrary to citizen’s reactions, the labour movement has not lost focus.
Nigerians have been grappling with the hike in prices of electricity and fuel amidst concerns that organised labour has no plans to compel the Federal Government to revert to old prices.
