As part of activities to celebrate the 82nd birthday of the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Arc.(Obong) Victor Attah, Uyo Book Club will be holding a colloquium to mark the day.
The event, which will take place on Friday, November 20 at the Watbridge Hotel & Suites, Uyo, will among other things, draw attention to the times and contributions of the widely respected former governor to the development of Akwa Ibom State, the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.
Obong Attah, a trained architect, has been roundly lauded for his visionary leadership of the state between 1999 – 2007, a period reputed to have laid the foundation for the present developmental gains of the state.
Speakers at the colloquium will include former minister of Housing and an elder statesman, Rt. Hon. Nduese Essien, erudite public servants and scholars, Arc. Otu Ita Toyo(Total Chair), Rt Hon.(Barr) Ekong Sampson, Arc. Ezekiel Nyaetok, Mr Victor Ekpeyong, among others.
