Gombe governor sponsors treatment of man with limb pains from trekking for Buhari

The governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has sponsored the treatment of one Dahiru Buba, who developed complications in his limbs after trekking from Gombe to Abuja to celebrate President Muhammadu Buhari’s win in 2019.

A native of Dukku Local Government area of the state, had made an appeal to Nigerians to assist him in getting treatment.

His appeal got the attention of his state governor who directed that he should be given medical attention at the Government House clinic, Gombe State, from where he was referred to a private orthopaedic hospital and placed on medication, according to a statement issued by the senior special assistant ( Media and Publicity) to the governor, Ismaila Uba Misilli.


Dahiru Buba

Misilli said Dahiru Buba thanked the governor for promptly coming to his aid while speaking to newsmen after the first round of his treatment at the hospital.

The statement disclosed that Dahiru said he started feeling some discomfort in his limbs after returning home from his fifteen days solidarity walk to Abuja.

It further said that Alhaji Ahmed Yahaya and Isa Faruk, who coordinated the evacuation of the patient from Dukku to Gombe, said Dahiru suffered serious problems with his legs since his return from his solidarity walk to Abuja, adding that “with the intervention of the Gombe state government, Dahiru Buba will be properly diagnosed and treated.”

“They described Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s gesture as unprecedented and heart warming, praying Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly and also acknowledged the support rendered to the patient’s family by the state Commissioner of Finance, Muhammad Gambo Magaji, whom they said has shown tremendous support and concern since he learnt about the condition of Dahiru Buba,” the statement said.
