Najib Tambuwal hooks Ameena Argungu

On Saturday, November 14, 2020, key political players from across the country would converge on the expansive grounds of the Emir’s Palace, Argungu, Kebbi State, for a wedding fatiha.

Although it is a union between two lovebirds, Najib Aminu Tambuwal and the delectable Ameena Umar Argungu, the event is expected to host virtually all politicians of note because of the parents of the couple.

While Najib is the lawyer first son of Sokoto State governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR, his bride’s father is Senator Umar Abubakar Argungu, Tafidan Kebbi and the proud holder of the national honour, Officer of the Federal Republic, OFR.

Senator Argungu, who represented Kebbi North district between 2007 and 2011, is a businessman of note. His Hijrah Holdings has huge investments in shipping and marine services, textiles, as well as oil and gas.

The lovebirds

While Governor Tambuwal is said to be in favour of a modest ceremony, perhaps in tandem with the mood of the times, 365Daily learnt that his numerous friends and associates across the country are desirous of making a loud political statement with the event.

Already, flights to Sokoto, the famed seat of the caliphate, are said to be fully booked from tomorrow till next week.

Not to be left out in the anticipated influx into Sokoto are the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, National Executive Committee(NEC) members of the party and former and serving members of the National Assembly, especially members of the 7th Assembly which Gov. Tambuwal served as speaker.

Besides being Sokoto State governor, Tambuwal is also chairman, PDP Governors Forum and vice chairman, Nigerian Governors Forum.

Also expected to grace the occasion are some governors from the fold of the All Progressives Congress, APC, with whom Tambuwal maintains very warm relationship.

After the wedding fatiha in Kebbi, many of the guests, 365Daily gathered, would return to Sokoto for a banquet.
