The wife of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Dr. (Mrs) Martha Udom Emmanuel has cleared the medical bills of Mrs Choice Etuk John, a helpless widow who was recently maimed during a suspected cult crisis in Inen, Oruk Anam Local Government Area.

The first lady extended this kind gesture on Tuesday, when she visited the indigent patient in a hospital in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.

Represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Education Monitoring, Mrs Idongesit Etiebet, the Governor’s wife said that Government will bring the perpetrators of the heinous crime to book, adding that the kind gesture was in line with the vision of FEYReP, her pet project designed to support the indigent and empower the youths and women in the state.

Reacting to the kind gesture, the patient who is responding to treatments, thanked the governor’s Wife for coming to her aid to ensure that she gets proper medical treatment.

On her part, the victim’s daughter, Miss Ndiobong Etuk also thanked the First Lady for her kindness and prayed God to give her the strength to continue to do more for the less privilege and the needy in Akwa Ibom State and beyond.
