Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, on Friday, October 30, has given a seven-day ultimatum for all those in possession of illegal arms to return it to the commandant of the South West Security Network, known as Amotekun at Pa Fasoranti’s Gardens, Alagbaka, Akure or face the full wrath of the law.
Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, disclosed this. “Those who find it difficult to physically present such arms and ammunition for obvious reasons are advised and indeed, encouraged to call 08079999989 for further advice and instructions on appropriate steps to be taken”.
The security outfit was formed basically to defend the South West region in view of the rising insecurity, accentuated by indiscriminate killings, kidnappings, banditry and destruction of farmlands.
