365Daily – The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has declared a circulating image claiming to show a newly introduced N5,000 banknote as fake.
Social media users had shared photos of a sample of the alleged N5,000 note featuring President Bola Tinubu.
Reacting to the disclosure, the apex bank, in a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, on Thursday.
It warned, “This content is fake. Let the public be guided.
Recall in 2025, CBN also debunked claims that it introduced N5,000 and N10,000 banknotes to facilitate cash transactions, describing the report as false.
