The Tiv Youth Organization (TYO), Nasarawa State Chapter, has strongly condemned the abduction and murder of Miss Favour Akaaza, a young lady from Imon community, Adudu Chiefdom in Obi local government area of Nasarawa state.
The 19-year-old victim was abducted from her residence in Ombi Anzaku along Kwandere road and subsequently killed by suspected armed Fulani men, who have since been arrested and confessed to the crime.
TYO in a statement described the act as barbaric, inhuman, and a direct assault on the peace and security of their communities.
The statement signed by Comrade Isaiah Audu, President of TYO, Nasarawa State Chapter, made available to journalists Saturday in Makurdi, the organization expressed heartbreak over the senseless killing of the young lady.
While commending the youths in the community and security agencies for their swift response in apprehending the culprits, TYO called on the relevant authorities to ensure that justice is served without compromise.
The organization urged the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to curb the rising cases of armed violence and protect innocent citizens from further attacks.
TYO equally extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Miss Favour Akaaza and prayed that God grants them the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
