Petrol attendant docked over alleged stealing N2.4m

The Police in Lagos on Friday arraigned a 24-year-old petrol attendant, Teslim Gbadamosi in Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged stealing N2,477,000.

The defendant whose address is unknown is being charged with stealing.

He however, pleaded not guilty to all the charge.

The prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo told the Court that the defendant committed the offence Sept.26, at about 1.90.p.m., at 7 Express filing station, Mowo, along Badagry expressway, Lagos.

Ekpo alleged that the defendant stole the sum of N2,477,000 the proceed of the station three days sales, belonging to 7 Express, the complainant.

“He was arrested and handed him over to Police for prosecution.

“The offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2015,” he said.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Nurudeen Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum N1,000,000 with two sureties in the like sum.

He said that one of the the surety must be a community leader with two years tax clearance.

Layeni adjourned the case until Nov.19, for mention. (NAN)
