365Daily – Four members of the Imo State House of Assembly have been suspended over an alleged plot to impeach the speaker, Rt. Hon. Chike Olemgbe.
The suspended lawmakers are Hons. Samuel Otuibe (Ahiazu-Mbaise constituency), Henry Agbasonu (Ezinihitte-Mbaise constituency), Chidiebere Ogbunikpa (Okigwe constituency) and Dominic Ezerioha (Oru-west).
Speaker Olemgbe announced the suspension during plenary on Tuesday, June 2, 2024.
He noted that their appointments as standing committees chairmen have been withdrawn from them and minor adjustments made on the committees.
Making the announcement, he added that the decision was taken at an executive session of the House.
