The Traditional Ruler of Ukwulu Ancient Kingdom, Igwe Peter Anaukwu Uyanwa, has called on illustrious sons and daughters of the area to radiate joy in lives of the people of the community.
Uyanwa made the call in his 2021 Christmas Message in Ukwulu on Saturday in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra.
The traditional ruler, while addressing some journalists, advised the affluent in the society to take advantage of the Christmas Celebration to show little kindness to the less privilege individuals around them.
He said that such act would enable the poor to feel the joyous mood of Christmas and afford them the will to rejoice with others as the Christian Community all over the World Celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Uyanwa said that the society expects the elites to use their God-given wealth to care for the well being of their neighbours at a time like this with a view to putting smiles on their faces.
The traditional ruler, who noted that there is joy in sharing, applauded the Anambra Governor, Chief Willie Obiano’s routine gesture every year to Civil Servants in the State and urged other people to emulate his footprint.
Uyanwa commended the governor for his loft ideas in erecting developmental projects in the state and described such as good gift to humanity that would continue to give life to the people.
He said that the Anambra International Cargo/Passengers Airport at Umueri Community has come to be a reality and noted that the commencement of commercial flights on the Airport is commendable.
He appealed to the youths of the Community and Anambra in general to delink themselves from indulging in nefarious acts that could ruin their lives.
The traditional ruler said that in the spirit of Christmas the youths should shun any ill activities with particular reference to consumption of methamphetamine and other illicit drugs that are destructive to human lives.
Uyanwa commended the legacy projects of the Obiano-led administration scattered in the state and expressed the hope that the incoming governor-elect, Prof. Charles Soludo, and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, will consolidate on the infrastructures on ground.
“Give the people good gift always and make life meaningful as that is all Christ’s birth stands for,” he said and expressed the hope that the incoming government will pay attention to road construction.”
Uyanwa, the immediate past Chairman, Traditional Rulers Council, Anambra Central, pleaded with Nigerian Governments at all levels and those in the private Sector to work towards creating job opportunities for the jobless Nigerian youths.
“Massive job creation would stem the exponential increase on kidnapping, banditry, extra judicial killings, broad day light armed rubbery and other obnoxious criminal acts that are inimical to the unity and progress of the Country,” he said. (NAN)
