The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has begun a statewide “Thank You” tour to appreciate party members and supporters for their backing during the party’s primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The tour, led by the party’s governorship candidate and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, commenced on Saturday in Kwara South, with visits to Ekiti and Oke-Ero Local Government Areas.
The delegation, accompanied by the Kwara State APC Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, party leaders and support groups, paid courtesy visits to the Olosi of Osi and Chairman of the Ekiti Local Government Traditional Council, Oba Saliu Abdulkareem Adasofegbe, and the Alofa of Ilofa and Chairman of the Oke-Ero Traditional Council, Oba Samuel Niyi Dada. Other traditional rulers from the two local government areas were also present.
Addressing party supporters at a town hall meeting in Ekiti, Danladi expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support the APC received during the party primaries and appealed for continued commitment ahead of the 2027 elections.
He said the tour began in Ekiti in recognition of the contributions of the state APC Chairman, Prince Fagbemi, and urged members to remain united as the party prepares for the next electoral cycle.
Danladi also called on supporters to mobilise more residents to join the APC, assuring them that the party would consolidate on the achievements of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration. He pledged to sustain ongoing investments in infrastructure, human capital development, inclusive governance and the strengthening of traditional institutions if elected governor.
Speaking during the visit, Prince Fagbemi highlighted what he described as key developmental projects executed by the AbdulRazaq administration in Kwara South, including the establishment of the Kwara State University (KWASU) campus in Osi and the rehabilitation of the Osi–Obbo-Aiyegunle Road.
He urged residents of the area to reciprocate the government’s efforts by supporting APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, the member representing Ekiti Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Abolarin Ganiyu Gabriel, thanked constituents for their continued support for the APC and appealed to them to remain loyal to the party in the next general elections.
