The 11th season of Big Brother Naija officially kicked off on Sunday night with the unveiling of 24 housemates who will compete for the coveted N160 million grand prize.
The opening live show, hosted by popular media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, introduced the contestants drawn from different parts of Nigeria and beyond. Each housemate entered the iconic BBNaija House with distinct personalities, backgrounds and ambitions, setting the stage for what promises to be another dramatic season of the reality television show.
The launch event featured colourful stage displays, electrifying musical performances and the much-anticipated introduction of the housemates to millions of viewers across Africa and the diaspora.
Tagged “Show Ya Sef,” the new season is expected to deliver the blend of entertainment, competition and intrigue that has made BBNaija one of Africa’s most-watched television programmes.
Over the coming weeks, the housemates will live together under constant surveillance while participating in a series of tasks, games and challenges designed to test their creativity, resilience, teamwork and entertainment value. They will also navigate alliances, friendships, rivalries and strategic gameplay, with viewers deciding their fate through weekly voting and eviction processes.
Since its debut in 2006 and relaunch in 2017, Big Brother Naija has evolved into a major platform for discovering and promoting talents in Nigeria’s entertainment industry. Many former housemates have gone on to build successful careers in acting, music, media, entrepreneurship and digital influencing.
Beyond entertainment, the show has continued to make significant contributions to Nigeria’s creative economy through content production, job creation, brand partnerships and audience engagement across television and digital platforms.
