The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged the general public, particularly members of the party in Imo, Abia, Anambra, and other affected states to disregard the purported lists of candidates currently circulating on various social media platforms and being presented as the authentic lists of the party’s candidates.
The NDC gave this advice in a statement issued on Feiday in Abuja by Barr. Ikenna Alex-Morgan Enekweizu, National Secretary of the party.
The NDC described the lists as false, misleading, and not from their national headquarters.
“The party wishes to state unequivocally that it has duly submitted the authentic lists of its candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) through the appropriate channels, in full compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
“The fraudulent lists currently in circulation are the handiwork of mischief makers and individuals whose intention is to sow confusion, create division, and undermine the progress of our great party. These actions represent desperate attempts to distract the party and cause unnecessary disaffection among members.
“The leadership of the NDC is already investigating the source of these fabricated documents and will take all necessary measures to protect the integrity of the party and its democratic processes.
“We therefore urge all party faithful, supporters, and members of the public to remain calm, focused, and committed to the ideals of the Nigeria Democratic Congress. The NDC remains steadfast in its mission to build a strong, credible, and people-oriented political platform capable of liberating Nigeria from its present challenges and delivering the dividends of democracy to all citizens”, the statement affirmed.
NDC aasuree the public that together, with their support and cooperation of members nationwide, they would continue to strengthen the party and advance the cause of a better Nigeria.
