Kebbi State Police Command on Wednesday said that it has arrested no fewer than four Mamudawa terrorist suspects, based on credible intelligence report.
Kebbi Police Commissioner, CP Umar Hadejia, in a press conference said that suspects Muhammadu Bandi, Aliyu Abubakar and Muhammad Abubakar were arrested on motorcycle enroute Lolo town to procure food for their members when the Mobile Police swooped on them and arrested them.
Hadejia added that the suspects, now in custody, were responsible for the killing of three FRSC personnel at Bagudo local government area of Kebbi State.
In related development, the Police Mobile Force on patrol, and acting on credible information at Bakin Ruwa, Bagudo local government, intercepted and arrested four Lakurawa suspects identified as Haruna Abubakar, Abubakar Lawali, Amne Shehu and Yahya Shehu.
“We are deeply investigating their alleged activities within SODA forest in Bagudo and we have handed over the case to Criminal Investigations Unit of Kebbi Police Command’.
The Kebbi state Police Command, acting on intelligence information from vigilante members in Zazzagawa village Argungu, had arrested one Murtala Sani for allegedly supplying logistics support to suspected Lakurawa .
However, Police on June 10, arrested armed kidnappers and rescued the wife of one Mustapha Musa, Malama Asma,u Isah from the hands of kidnappers who forcefully gained entrance into their house, kidnapped her and stole phones and cash.
The Command also had in custody one Faruku Muhammed from Tungar Zabarmawa area Jega local government for allegedly raping a 10-year-old Naja’atu inside Islamiyya school where he works as a security guard.
The suspect lured her into the school and inserted his finger into her private part. He is being investigated before he would be arraigned in court.
“After investigations all the suspects will face full wrath of the law” the CP added.
