365Daily – Oseloka Obi, the son of 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi, has broken his silence after social media went wild with allegations linking him to homosexuality.

The controversy erupted after photos of Oseloka dining with London-based British-Nigerian creative, Kent Okwesa, began circulating online on Wednesday.

In the pictures, the duo appeared relaxed and seated closely at a restaurant in the United Kingdom, triggering a frenzy of speculation and rumours.

In a strongly worded statement, he dismissed the allegations as “malicious falsehoods” orchestrated by those seeking to tarnish his father’s reputation.

“Because of my father’s involvement in Nigerian politics, there has been a persistent curiosity and, at times, malicious obsession with me,” he declared.

The filmmaker, who maintains a private lifestyle with no social media presence, said he rarely responds to such rumours, noting that the relentless spread of fake narratives forced him to speak up.

“The truth is simple: Peter Obi’s son appears in photos with his friends and colleagues, nothing more. If people wish to invent otherwise, I hope they sleep soundly knowing they are spreading lies,” Oseloka stated firmly.

He went further to throw his weight behind his father, reaffirming his confidence in the senior Obi’s integrity and leadership vision.

“My father has my vote, not because he is my father, but because he is the right man for the job. If others wish to go low, invent scandals, or attack me to wound him, they are free to do so. But we will go high, and we will continue to focus on the future of Nigeria,” he said.

In a final swipe at his critics, Oseloka urged Nigerians to redirect their energy from baseless gossip to the country’s urgent socio-economic problems.
