A famous youth organisation under the aegis of Yalli Network in Kebbi State, on Saturday held a summit in Birnin Kebbi to enlighten youth on the need to cultivate characters in their daily lives that will help in the global efforts on climate change.
The Kebbi state coordinator, Amiru Umar Faruk, said that the summit is intends to broaden the scope of understanding of youth in terms of climate change and renewable energy which is the trend going on globally.
“Youths are indispensable assets in any nation that hopes to succeed and prosper in every sector, hence our reason to educate them on the twin topics”, he said.
Resource persons who presented impactful papers include Mr. Salawudeen who dwelled on volunteering; urging youth to engage in volunteer services with international donor agencies saying such attitudes will expose them to global issues in humanitarian services which is a stepping stone to greatness in life.
Yusuf Ladan, the former Kebbi State coordinator of the group also presented a paper where he tasked youth to use the social media for personal gains by branding themselves to garner required knowledge for self-reliance.
“Irresponsible use of social media has no gains but self-destruction”, he said.
The summit which drew participants from the 21 local government areas of Kebbi State was held at Kebbi State College of Nursing Sciences in Birnin Kebbi.
