The 32-year old gospel singer, Timilenyi Ajayi who was arrested in possession of human head suspected to be that of his girlfriend, Miss Salome Adaidu, has denied killing her for ritual purposes.
He stated this when he was brought to the court in Lafia by officers of Criminal Investigation Department, CID, of the Nigeria Police Force, on Friday.
Ajayi who has been accused of a one-count charge of culpable homicide by the law enforcement agency said he dismembered her body after killing Salome in order to hide it away from the public.
According to him, the altercation started when he discovered that the late Salome was chatting with another guy while she was in his room, and he wanted to collect the phone by force, which she resisted.
Ajayi said Salome injured him at the process and he became angry and stabbed her, which led to her death.
The culprit who expressed regret with the turnout of event pleaded with the public for forgiveness.
Recall that Miss Salome Adaidu, a corps member who lived at Nyanya, a suburb of the nation’s capital, was reported to have been killed by her boyfriend, Timilenyi Ajayi who was later caught with her dismembered head at Mararaba area of Nasarawa State.
