Acting Chairman Benue State Internal Revenue Service, BIRS, Emmanuel Agema has affirmed that the recent award given to the Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, by the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Abuja, was a true testament of his sterling leadership qualities.
Agema who made the affirmation while reacting to an award of Advocate of the Masses and Human Rights, presented to the governor by the NUJ, in a congratulatory massage stated that the governor’s people-oriented policies and strategies aimed at ameliorating the sufferings and pains of Benue people has earned him what he described as the ‘wonderful award’.
Agema in a statement by his media assistant, Jacintha Bernard in Makurdi, lauded Governor Alia’s high respect for the rights and freedom of Benue people which has been reciprocated through the massive love and confidence bestowed on him by the masses, adding that no state can thrive without the love and respect of his subject and urged the governor to keep the tempo of development.
The BIRS boss equally affirmed that Governor Alia has consciously won the people’s respect through his most efficient people management skills, execution of capital projects, repositioning of Benue on the national and international radar as well as provision of good governance to Benue people within his short period in office.
While praying that God strengthens and grants the governor more wisdom to carry out his duties effectively as he continue to embark on the strenuous journey of bringing development to the state, Agema on behalf of the service, pledged unflinching support for the governor and his administration and wished him well as he pilots affairs of the state.
