365Daily – Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital was on Friday thrown into commotion as a fall out of the Supreme Court judgment delivered in favour of Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The protesters blocked some major highways in the capital city, burning tires, while some women where seen protesting naked, and the police was making frantic efforts to disperse them in order to restore law and order.

The civil unrest caused markets, banks and other businesses to close shop immediately to avoid being attacked.

Recall that the Supreme Court on Friday gave their verdict dismissing appeal of candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Honourable David Emmanuel Ombugadu who the protesters believed actually won the March 18 governorship election in the state.

The Nasarawa State Election Petition Tribunal had earlier given judgement in favour of Ombugadu, but the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja later nullified the tribunal judgement, and the Supreme Court has finally rested the case by upholding the decision of the appellant court.
