356Daily – MultiChoice Group has announced that SuperSport channels will now broadcast all 52 games of the forthcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

This was disclosed by DSTV Nigeria on Wednesday via its official X handle.

“No gree for anybody! Watch all 52 matches of the #afcon2023 on @supersports.

Afcon #DStvnigeria #supereagles,” the tweet read.

This comes a few days after news of MultiChoice’s failure to acquire the broadcasting rights for AFCON went viral.

However, the company noted that the broadcasting rights are “non-exclusive,” and the matches will be available to view on “most bouquets on DStv and GOtv.”

A Togolese audio-visual group, New World TV, had won the broadcasting rights to broadcast all of CAF’s 13 competitions to a sub-Saharan African audience for two years.

An indigenous company, Startimes, had announced it struck a sublicensing deal with New World TV and would air all the competition games.

Similarly, the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) also disclosed that it signed a memorandum of understanding with AfroSports TV, a cross-continental free-to-air (FTA) sports channel, to broadcast AFCON to the Nigerian audience.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles of Nigeria landed in the Ivory Coast on Wednesday and will take on Equatorial Guinea in their opening game on January 14 .

They will meet Ivory Coast four days later and end the group stage with a game against Guinea-Bissau.
