365Daily – President Bola Tinubu has asked the Ondo State House of Assembly to confer powers on the Deputy Governor of the State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, following the incapacitation of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The directive was given at a meeting he summoned to resolve the leadership crisis in Ondo on Monday.
The President reportedly emphasised that this transfer is without conditions, as it aligns with the “Doctrine of Necessity.”
365Daily recalls that there had been reports of the transfer of power coming with the condition that he signs a resignation letter ahead of his resumption of office.
According to reports, the transfer of power will be done by electronic signature (e-signature) because the ailing governor is too weak to sign any document.
Governor Akeredolu remains the chief executive officer of the state, but will now have enough time to take a medical leave till he gets fit enough to assume office.
