Ex-Senate President, Saraki, clears Mr Ibu’s medical bills

Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has cleared off all medical expenses of Nollywood actor, Mr John Okafor, popularly called Mr Ibu, who is battling an undisclosed ailment.

The Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) foundation on Friday announced that it has donated funds for the treatment of the actor.

In a statement released on Friday via X, the foundation said the “entire medical expenses of Ibu have been paid off as of Wednesday.”

“The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation is honoured to have extended support to Mr. John Okafor also known as Mr. Ibu, a renowned comedic icon who has graced our screens and brought joy and laughter to countless homes over the past four decades,” the statement reads.

“When we learned of his recent health challenges and the financial burdens associated with his medical treatment, we felt a deep sense of responsibility to assist in any way we could. We promptly paid off his entire medical expenses as of Wednesday.”

ABS foundation said it was part of its objectives to improve the lives of poor Nigerians through a variety of programmes and initiatives.

365Daily recalls that on Wednesday, Mr Ibu, via his Instagram page, made a video to  plead for financial assistance. This led to a flurry of donations by generous and concerned Nigerians.
