365Daily –  The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said it is mulling the idea of asking Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates to use their personal phone devices to take the examination.

It said this is in order to reduce the high cost of conducting the examination nationwide.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this in Abuja on Saturday, during the 2023 policy meeting on admission to tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

Oloyede called for the establishment of a mobile court for the trial of candidates caught in examination malpractices for speedy prosecution and reduction of cost of execution on the board.

He explained: “It cost the board over N1.2billion to equip a CBT centre in Kaduna State, particularly in procuring computers which candidates use to take the examination.
