EFCC takes Ex-Benue Governor, Ortom, into custody over misappropriation allegation

365Daily – Immediate past Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has reportedly been taken into custody by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Ortom is allegedly facing charges bordering on misappropriation of public funds when he governed Benue State for eight years.

However, Ortom was not arrested by EFCC officials, but reported to its office in Abuja himself at exactly 10:08 am on June 20, 2023.

As at the time of filing this report, he was still in closed-door meeting with the EFCC officials.
