365Daily – Angry members of the House of Representatives have directed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to suspend its cash withdrawal policy.
The Lawmakers said the policy slated for implementation from January 9, 2023 needs to meet provisions of the CBN establishment Act.
According to them, the new cash withdrawal policy will grossly affect small businesses and the economy because most rural communities lack access to banks.
In addition, the House also summoned CBN Governor, Godwin Emiefele, to brief the Chamber on several policies of the bank in recent times.
Emiefele is to appear before the House on Thursday, December 15, 2022 to brief the House on the matter.
