365Daily – Ogbaru Neighbourhood Communities Development Association (ONCDA) in Lagos State has appealed for emergency inventions for victims of the flood that has taken over the area, leading to the loss of lives and properties.
In a letter dated 7th October 2022, addressed to the Association of Anambra State Development Unions, AASDU, the Ogbaru association appealed for palliatives to cushion the devastating effects of the flood on the inhabitants of the area.
The letter entitleed “Re: Emergency Call (SOS)”, was co-signed by Chairman, Chief Mexie Okwuosa and Secretary, Comrade Emmanuel Akpati.
It read: “We, the umbrella body of Ndi Ogbaru in Lagos and member of Anambra North Communities in Lagos, wish to bring to your knowledge about the prevalent situation in the rural communities in Anambra State and condition of lives of our people occasioned by the perennial flood which have displaced the entire communities along the river banks.
“We, as active members of this honourable association wish to appeal for your emergency interventions through a likely palliative to cushion the devastating effects of the aforementioned situation confronting our people at home.
“And this flood has brought about total displacement of the people and their livelihood seriously affected.
“We are all using this opportunity to bring in the presence and benefits of AASDU to our people in various communities.
“We urge you to use your good office to attend to this letter promptly.”
