Tambuwal declares curfew to quell protests over arrest of Deborah Yakubu’s killers

365Daily – Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has declared a curfew in the state following protests by youths over the arrest of the murderers of Deborah Yakubu.

Miss Yakubu, a student of the College of Education, Sokoto, was brutally murdered for alleged blasphemy, sparking national ourage.

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Muhammad Bello, said the 24-hour curfew is with immediate effect.

He said the declaration is in pursuance of peace and order in Sokoto metropolis and the entire state.
