One of the hard lessons I have been forced to swallow in my life is that the people you think will help you may not help you.
You should never allow your life grind to a halt because someone you really hoped will offer assistance never did. It doesn’t matter how much you think you deserved it. It could be your Father, Mother, an uncle or aunty, relation, a religious or political figure, a mentor, a philantropist, someone you sacrificed so much for, anybody actually.
The fact that you got dumped out of a relationship, marriage, job, or favour is not the end of your life. Consider it that the person was too blind to see the goldmine in you to invest.
Infact, rather than get angry or wallow in self pity, feel real pity for the person who refused to help, “if only he/she knew who will become”.
If you give yourself enough time, you will actually thank God that that particular man or woman did not help you.
I am not saying that you will not feel depressed, disappointed, sober, sad and mostly angry. But, turn that anger into a burning passion. Make a vow to yourself that you will succeed and the people who turned you down will see you rejoice.
In life, learn to move on from disappointment. Do not blame people for your failures. Do not blame people for refusing to help you. Blames will weigh you down. Nobody owes you anything, not even your parents. Move on with your life. Succeed against all odds.
Beyond the physical, there are people God does not intend that they have a hand in your rising. The person who refused to help you may be your future tormentor(s). He or she will enslave you. He or she will remind you how you were nothing before he helped you.
Let me take you a little higher. It is only God who is our greatest helper. HE has been our help in ages past, HE is our hope for years to come.
The psalmist in 118 verses 8 and 9 says, “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes”.
Prophet Isaiah conveys the message in a more forceful way, In 31 verse 1, he says “Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the Lord!”
Forget man, God has not overlooked you. He has something and someone amazing in store for you. Remember his timing. God does not give you the people you want, he gives you the people you need, to help you, to hurt you, to leave you and to love you, and to make you the person you were meant to be.
Step out today and enjoy the help of God.
