365Daily– The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has pegged its presidential and governorship forms at N40m and N21m respectively.
It also announced a 50 per cent reduction in nomination fees for youths aged 25 to 30 years for various elective positions
The sale of the forms will begin on Thursday, March 17, 2022.
This followed the 95th meeting by the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at its Wadata Plaza national headquarters, Abuja.
A communique issued at the end of the meeting which was made available to the press added that the NEC also approved the PDP Electoral Guidelines for the conduct of Primary Elections and okayed the timetable and schedule of activities for the 2023 general elections.
The document signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, also stated that NEC approved the establishment of a 37-member Zoning Committee which will make recommendations for the zoning of various elective positions for the 2023 general elections.
It has 2 weeks to submit its report.
The communique stated: “State House of Assembly: Expression of Interest, N100,000; Nomination Form, N500,000. House of Representatives: Expression of Interest, N500,000; Nomination Form, N2,000,000.
“Senate: Expression of Interest, N500,000; Nomination Form, N3,000,000. Governorship: Expression of Interest, N1,000,000; Nomination Form, 20,000,000.
“President: Expression of Interest, N5,000,000; Nomination Form, N35,000,000.”
It continued: “NEC approved a 50 per cent reduction in nomination fees for youths aged 25 to 30 years for various elective positions as sale of forms begin Thursday, March 17, 2022.
“The Council also approved the PDP Electoral Guidelines for the conduct of Primary Elections and okayed the timetable and schedule of activities for the 2023 general elections.”
Commenting on National issues, the PDP NEC “strongly condemned the insincerity, corruption and insensitivity of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration resulting in worsening insecurity and agonizing economic hardship in the country.”
It also “condemned the abysmal corruption in the APC government which is responsible for the excruciating fuel crisis and collapse of our national grid that have crippled economic and social activities in our country,” while noting that Nigerians are now “looking up to the PDP for solution and as such urged all Party members to remain united in the PDP’s mission to Rescue and Rebuild our country from the misrule of the APC.”
